How to Get Saved!
God, the Creator of the universe and everything in it—the one true, sovereign, living God—is holy, perfectly righteous, and absolutely pure. (Genesis 1:1)
And you and I are not.
That is a big, big problem!
Because one day we will all stand before the Lord Jesus Christ, the holy and righteous judge, and apart from His saving grace we cannot expect anything but condemnation. Scripture distinguishes between the judgment of those who are saved and the judgment of those who are lost.
The saved, those who have put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ for evaluation and reward and spend eternity in the the holy, eternal city of God called New Jerusalem, in the new heaven and new earth, where there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain, and where they will dwell in the glorious presence of God forever and ever. (Revelation 21:1–4, 22–27)
But the lost, those who reject Jesus Christ, will stand before the Great White Throne Judgment, which is the final judgment of the lost before God brings the present fallen creation to an end by fire and replaces it with a new heaven and new earth— no longer corrupted by sin, death, suffering, decay, or Satan— where they will be judged according to their works, found guilty, and condemned to eternal punishment in the lake of fire— the final destination of Satan, death, Hades, and all whose names are not found written in the book of life— where there will be fiery, conscious torment, day and night, without rest and without reprieve, forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10–15)
And forever and ever is a long, long time to be wrong.

So it is imperative for you to understand that we were all born in the same condition— with a sin nature— lost, condemned, and without hope, and need to be reconciled, to be made right, with God through His Son.
We are all sinners, without exception, and we all fall short of the glory of God—His perfect standard of righteousness. And the wages of sin, the price sin pays, is death: physical death, spiritual separation from God, and eternal punishment. (Romans 3:23); (Romans 6:23)
But because of His grace, mercy, and great love for us, God did what only He could do. (John 3:16); (Romans 5:8)
He added humanity to His deity and God Himself, through His Son Jesus Christ, became the sinless substitute His perfect justice required.
Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live, died the death we deserved and paid the penalty for our sin. Then, on the third day, He rose from the dead and walked out of that tomb, conquering sin, death, hell, Satan, and all the powers of darkness.
And He gives eternal life to all who genuinely repent of their sin and put their faith and trust in Him.
Yes— the same holy God who demands justice for the sins of mankind also provides redemption through the substitutionary sacrifice of His Son, who paid sin’s penalty once for all on the cross. Since before the foundation of the world, Jesus Christ has always been God’s plan to save lost sinners.
We are saved from the wrath to come only by the grace of the one true Creator God, through genuine repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ, as the Holy Spirit applies Christ’s saving work to us and gives us new life. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
Reconciliation to God through saving faith in Jesus Christ restores the relationship between God and humanity that was broken due to sin.
To be reconciled to God is the reason we exist on the earth.
“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17)
The “word of Christ” is the message about Jesus Christ—the gospel: who He is, what He accomplished through His death and resurrection, and the salvation God offers through faith in Him.
God commands us to hear and believe the gospel truth and to not ignore it, resist it, or suppress it.
No one can be saved without the gracious work of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit uses the Word to produce life. He convicts us of sin and convinces us of the truth: that we are sinners, guilty before God, unable to save ourselves, and desperately in need of a Savior.
And when you finally understand the truth— all you can do is humble yourself and with a godly sorrow, cry out with all your heart:
“God, be merciful to me, a sinner and save my soul.”
And the Bible tells us that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” and born again as a new creation in Christ. (Romans 10:13); (Titus 3:5)
If you have truly put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ — according to scripture— YOU ARE SAVED! (Romans 10:9-10); completely forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), reconciled to God (Romans 5:10-11), justified and made righteous through the righteousness of Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21), made a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), indwelled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13–14), and given eternal life which begins immediately upon salvation (John 17:3).
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)
And yes— your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life! (Revelation 20:15; Revelation 21:27)
