What God’s Word teaches us about our thoughts, minds, and attitudes:
1. Set your mind on the things above. Focus on eternal things rather than becoming consumed with worldly concerns. (Colossians 3:2)
2. Think about what is good. Fill your mind with whatever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, admirable, virtuous, and praiseworthy. (Philippians 4:8)
3. Renew your mind. Don’t conform to the thinking of this world. Allow God’s truth to transform the way you think. (Romans 12:2)
4. Take every thought captive. Recognize thoughts that oppose God’s truth and bring them into obedience to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
5. Guard your heart and mind. Be careful what you allow to influence your thoughts, desires, and attitudes. (Proverbs 4:23)
6. Think before you act. Consider your ways and the consequences of your decisions before taking action. (Proverbs 14:15)
7. Trust in the Lord rather than your own understanding. Don’t assume your thinking is always right. Seek God’s wisdom and direction. (Proverbs 3:5–6)
8. Think with humility. Don’t think too highly of yourself. Recognize your limitations and consider others. (Romans 12:3)
9. Have the mind of Christ. Develop the humility, selflessness, and obedience demonstrated by Jesus. (Philippians 2:5–8)
10. Think of others before yourself. Don’t focus only on your own interests. Consider the needs and well-being of others. (Philippians 2:3–4)

17. Examine your own thoughts and motives. Be willing to recognize and correct wrong attitudes, intentions, and desires. (Psalm 139:23–24)
